We have a Ultra 60 with a single 18 GB 10.5KRPM drive in it. We are running Solaris 8. I want to add additional drive(s) to this machine. Can I buy any UW/SCSI drive and expect to get it to work, are their limitations on the size.

For example, could I use a Quantum 73.4GB SCSI ULTRA 160 WIDE INT 3.5LP 10K RPM 4.7MS ATLAS drive.

As far as I know, there are no limitations for "using Solaris on large disks" under Solaris 8.
We "updated" our HDs from 18GBs to 36GBs last month and everything worked out fine. regards

Solaris 7 had a problem (but could be patched ...) but Solaris 8 should work just fine.
