Looks like you have a bad MPB. I would check all of the connections and reseat the MPB.

MPB = Main Processor Board? This is on the card or the entire card itself?

MPB is the voice interface, this is what you plug the ds30 cable into from the mgate card in the PBX. It depends on what you have but it maybe a mpb-96 or mpb-16.

a12ozbottle..he said it was 201i i don't think it
would use a mgate card or a ds30 cable that application
is for an external server.but the ones on the 201i could
be bad.

Your right I missed that, thanks strmwalker. Could then be you MPC-8, which are the media processors that look like pcm-cia cards in the front of the callpilot.

M1north....i would try resetting them first,but i
would have two mpc-8 on hand and replace both.

Can someone outline the procedure? Can it be done while the pilot is running or do I need to power it down? Do I need to disable the cards first? Also, are these generic beween release or are they specific to each unit?

I`m assuming I will know if this was the issue by checking the event log and also if it doesnt crash monthly anymore....correct?

Hi all,

I contacted a vendor to aid with support because I am new to Call Pilot and this is a sensitive PBX (traders). They are telling me its a virtual memeory issue and I need the updated peps installed. We will be doing this in the next few days so lets hope that $1400 later this is fixed.

You didn't happen to upgrade your phone switch with the CP still connected and running did you?

M1north..what the H?ll is $1400.00 for i hope its
not for PEPS if you have a maint. contract the PEPS
should be free thats part of a maint. agreement and
the vendor did not pay $1400.00 to download the PEPS
from nortel.

This switch was not upgraded recently....I dont think!

Also, the $1400 is for labour to figure out the problem (4 hours) download the patches (2 hours), and then come onsite after hours and load them (4 hours) = 10 hours x $145/hour.

Unfortunatly, I`m thinking I can do it myself but I figured I will pay to learn as I havnt dealt with the Pilot too much.

Also, I need to find a cheaper vendor to provide remote support as $145/hour is killing me!!

M1north...the patches will take over 2 hours and could
go over 4 hours that depends on what type of server you
have 201i or 703t etc ?
