What controls what formula fields are available in chart

Hi all... I'm new to charting in Crystal and have a question I hope you can help me with. When I insert a chart using the Chart Expert not all of my formula fields show up as available fields under the "Advanced Layout" option. Why would some formula fields show up and others not. I've changed the one I want to be numeric instead of text but that didn't seem to help.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to read a bit on Crystal's processing, specifically about the 3 pass system, it will help to understand why it does this.

Please post your version of Crystal also, you'll find that functionality is dependent upon the age of the product.
