what command to get out of system maintenance mode

My computer was accidentally unplugged from the socket. When I the computer back in the socket and reboot it, this was the message on the screen:

Reboot with command: which I used init 3, 5,6 fsck and vfstab (cannot open vfstab)

Root password for system maintenance (control -d) to bypass:

Please, I would greatly appreciate for any person to help me get out this mess.
 
Can you log in as root and try to fsck the root (/) partition?

The internet - allowing those who don't know what they're talking about to have their say.
