What communications package should I use to access my phone switch remotely? What type of protocol should I set it up as?

I know you can use procomm, are there any freeware packages?

thanks

Hi,

You can use almost every comm programm that is out there...

If you want to transfer files/backups you need to have X-Modem support and if you want to be compatible with Meridian Mail/Miran you need to have VT-100/VT-102.

You can use TTY for the switch but the VT-100/VT-102 will work as well..

PROCOMM PLUS is the Dogs B****** and is a must for ANY merdian Engineer

As one234 said You can use almost any comm program including Hyperterminal which comes with windows, and I use it trough a 2616 dataport, I even have a 386 PC with win 3.1 and ´Terminal´ attached to the pbx and it does everything but running scripts (for this u would need procomm, telix, qmodem [DOS], etc. ). Just configure it right (bits, parity, stopbits, etc.)

Hope this helps
