I'm interested in having internal FXO/FXS ports inside of an UCx 450 instead of having external gateways - our vendor is stating that only a PRI card is supported.

Not that I don't believe them - however being the open platform that it's supposed to be doesn't lend itself to that conclusion nor does the info on their website.

Any info is appreciated.

You can install an FXO card in UCx450 and it will work without problems. Considering that the typical number of extensions on UCx450 is certainly over 50, the use of a PRI card in UCx450 is much more common. Also, analog trunks are really a technology from the past - you should consider IP trunks instead (if possible).

As far as I know, FXS ports are not supported.

The FXO ports would be for 911/failover

I was told sometime ago that the UCx450 didn't support internal FXO cards. Has this changed ?

The UCx 450 will accept FXO cards. You can also use a FXO gateway. WE do it for the same reason. Failover for the SIP Trunks.
