Hi

I'm looking for a piece of backup software to download my PHP website on a schedule.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

H

Its hosted on an Linux server, but I just need something that will connect from my desktop to the hosting space via FTP and pull down the site once a day or so. Datestamping would be nice.

Thanks

I've been using AutoMySQLBackup VER 2.5

It works great. Mine does nightly backups into zip formats of daily, weekly, and monthly redundancy. I get emailed a report every night. This script is full of options, free and open source, and works, what more could you ask for? My understanding is that the zipped files can be sent to you through email. Its not exactly what you are looking for, but you may be able to use it. I set the script using Cron to repeat daily.

bam720 -

isn't the user looking to backup his website rather than his database?

jpadie, yes you are correct :) but thanks bam720, i will also have to back up my new sql db soon

I thought there would be many scheduled FTP apps but it seems not :S

Anyone? I suppose I could write a DOS script to do it, I would have thought there was a slicker way of doing it?

Thanks

and ... does your host support webdav? many (i.m.e) seem to do so.

if so, you can use synctoy from microsoft to manage a sync process between the two sites (set up the remote server as a network place). you can use task scheduler to schedule synctoy to run at intervals.

alternatively googling for the following brings up many solutions

[google]windows XP scheduled synchronize over ftp[/google]

One of those cases of where being sick makes you go loopy. Yes he does want his site backed up, and yes I pointed him at database backup. Whoops lol. I apologize.

I'm not sure where my last post went but thanks for the input guys
