Hello all,

I have a windows nt 4 server that has a lot of this files (Fd000044.fdd - Fd000298.fdd) in the winnt folder.

Are they log files?

They are taking up space that I need. Can I delete them?

Please let me know, I'll appreciate your help,

Thanks in advance,

Aldi

First of all I would look at the creation date and last modified date, the file extention itself doesn't bring anything other than floppy disk drive to mind.

If you find that the files haven't been accessed for months\years I wouldn't worry about deleting them, if however they are being used I would first of all find out what's in them and then find out what apps you have on the server that's likely to create them.

Simon

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.

Hi Simon, the files are very old. I moved them out instead of deleting them. Tonight I'll restart the server and see what happens after.

Thanks for the advice,
