What are these files, and, can they be deleted?

I have enormous amounts of disk space being taken up by hidden directories that look like this - $NtUnistallKB932782_WMP11$ or similiar. Can they be deleted?

Also, I have a ton of text files with names like KB932782.log.

From what I found out, these are "updates". If they're updates, can I delete the original files then? Which files can I toss? Thanks.

You can delete them, they are the MS updates. But if you do delete them, you cannot uninstall them.
