What are the things to consider in monitoring access point?

We have a Cisco Aeronet 1100 and 1200 and we would like to monitor it, what are the things that i should consider in monitoring AP. Please also recommend monitoring tools.

I would suggest using What's up gold for monitoring your device. You can simply ping it for network connectivity or use SNMP traps for alerts.

What about the AP's radio signals, should this be considerd?
