Hi,

We host our own mail server (IMail on Windows NT) internally. Everyday, we send several emails from the system to each of our members. Evidently, for some members, 1 or 2 out of the several emails are being bounced back as undeliverables daily, for example, 2 out of 7 came back, while 5 have gone through. The undeliverables just say "Undeliverable to blahblah.."

I know that insufficient disk quota on the client side is one of the possible causes, but I have checked with those members, and it is not happening on their end. Would anyone tell me what other factors might cause this?

Thank you!

I don't know anything abou IMail, but the problem should be there!
The mail leave client -> server and then server reply to client. It replyes with an error message, that means that it cannot find the destination mailbox. So it is a problem inside of IMail (confguration). Gia Betiu

We need more information.

- Do the members have addresses in seperate domains?
- It would be helpfull to see the transcript with error messages.

Here is some possibilities you can check:
- Is the reverse lookup for your mail server correct? If not, some mail servers will deny accepting mail if the reverse lookup fails or is inconsistens with the HELO statement your server uses.

- Check that your mail server isn't on any blacklists because of spam relaying. ( I assume that you have an abuse@yourdomain.com address set up, and that you allready denies relaying)
