What are the implications of migrating a non domain controller windows 2003 server from one domain to anouther in a completely separate forest? There is a trust between the two domains in question but we need to move the server due to issues with one of the applications on it.

nichols,

If you’ve configured any applications to use domain based (service) accounts, it may stop working. Although with trusts in place, it should be OK.

Apart from that, no implications whatsoever.

Make sure you know the local admin password for the server. Once removed from first domain, you’ll need to use it to log on to join the other domain.
