What are best practices for Search Engine Optimization

I am about to implement a website and I want the search engines like google and yahoo etc to bring traffic to my site.

Your help is highly appreciated in this regard.

There are entire degree courses on this subject, so searching this forum, googling for "SEO" or "search engine optimization" or buying a book on the subject would be a good way forward. Check out

Generally speaking though, getting people to link to your site is the best way.
