I have made a crystal report based on a Dataset.

Whenever i want to view this report through my application. I'm asked for logon information to the database. How come??

Hard to say since I've no idea what sort of application you're speaking of, or database, or CR version, or means for calling the report.

Here's the CD sample applications page:

If this doesn't resolve, post some specifics and the code you're using.

I use a program called ORMIS (Operating Room Management Information System). It is passworded to the extent that when I want to start a new report, I can not even pick what tables I want to use until I "sign in". I have always just considered that a security measure for the data contained in the database...

Am I correct in assuming that your program populates its dataset from information in the database? If so, then it will inherit all the security restrictions of the database.
