Hi,
I copy and paste files from my computer to the WD 500 External Hard-Drive, and I could not retrieve, see /read my files.
The WD500 is showing that is 50% full but is not showing my copied files,
(it is showing only the files that come with the WD 500HD).

I did try Partition Magic and also Western Digital Test Program and they did nothing to fix it.

After few days of leaving it alone, now I'm able to move files to WD 500HD and to see /read them,
but I'm not able to see /read my original files that I moved at the beginning.

Please help if You have any ideas.
Thank you very much.

Well that's vague. What exactly do you see?
When you copied and pasted before did you get any errors?

How exactly where you copying and pasting?

Is it possible you pasted your files inside a folder?

Does the drive come with any management software that may decide where to copy the data to?

Is it perhaps partitioned and you copied your fields to another partition?

The applications you mention aren't really meant to fix anything. Partition Magic can create and delete Partitions, but won;t actually bring back lost files., and the test software obviously just tests the drive for errors and tries to fix those, but again won't bring back files.

Hi vacunita,
Thank You very much for Your response.

In next day or two I will have more time, and I will check the suggestions You give, and will reply with results.
From Your suggestions ONE I did not do is = I did not used the included management software. Maybe this is the reason.

I have to check again and see if I can RE-do it, (install the software).

Thanks again for Your time responding to my question.
