Ive had this drive for about 2 years now but I quit using it due to its fits. Ill explain

When I first bought this drive, first 8 months it worked fine. Had no problems with it. Then when the 9th month hit, I get "no hard drive found". It would not work show up or anything. So I tried to contact Western Digital to replace it. They ignored every email I sent.

So I bought a Seagate to replace it. Well couple months down the road I got bored and decided to toy with the wd drive again. Stuck it in, low and behold it boots like nothing was ever wrong. 3 months down the road it quit working again. This drive continues to do this crap all the time. Very annoying.

Anyone ever had this type of problem before?

I do not use it anymore , it sits around collecting dust as I cant trust it for any purpose due to the fits it has.

Go to WD's site , click Support, Warranty Services and enter your serial number. You might get a new drive, I've got two on the way.

Hey electronicsfreak,
When I was in school in 2004-2005 for my IT stuff the school had bought about 200 of these 40% turned out bad. Got the RMA ed and about 20% of them went bad. They had some real problems. The only WD drives I use are in boxes that I run DC software programs on.
