I have Verizon DSL service running with a Westell Dual Connect modem. One PC is connected through USB connector - no problem.

I want to add a Linksys Wireless Router by connecting to the Ethernet connection on the Westell. Am having a tough time getting the Linksys to work. Under Status, its not getting the ip information from the modem.

Any hints?

Thanks

I won't be back onsite until tomorrow. Is there a difference between the two models I have to look out for?

Yes. The 2100 is a pure bridge, and the Linksys should have no problem if you give it the authentication information and tell it to make a PPoE connection.

The 2110 is a mini-router, it handles the PPoE stuff and assigns DHCP addresses to the two devices. If it was me I would find a way to put it into bridge mode, and let the Linksys handle the PPoE connection. Although you could tell the Linksys to obtain an address automaticly from the modem.
