I noticed that my directory on one of my three exchange
5.5 servers was not sync'd with the other two servers.(
the new account adds I made the previous night did not
show). I went to stop the the exchange services and
noticed that the directory store took a very long time to
shut down. I rebooted the server and went to restart the
directory service and received a 2140 error. When I
checked the app logs I found a number of 116 & 117 event
errors. ( both events reflected a 1018 error ).

How do I recover from this ? note: I checked my backups,
the information store and exchsrvr files are in tack but
the directory stores in stating that it might be corrupt
when I select it for retore

Thanks

-1018 is hardware. Did you use the power button to reboot?

Restore database or hard repair /p and then export to csv and install new server and import the csv and copy over pub and priv. Org, Site, Server name and all that good stuff needs to match original server. Dan
