Well, I'm actually dealing with a question at least one step below a VPN. I'm simply trying to set up a shared drive over the internet. I've got a customer running a Win98 box with a shared resource, a folder on the root drive. From a remote machine, I can ping the host machine but cannot Start/Find/Computer the computer name to map a network drive letter to the shared resource. Thus there is no NT domain to log onto. What step am I missing here?
I used the explanation from Helmig.com to set up the connection but have obviously misunderstood something.
Thanks.

neglected to mention that I did edit the lmhosts file to include the target machine's ip address and name.
