Please how do I get the welcome greetings to repeat on an incoming trunk call. Will it work if I create a single digit mailbox, say 7, with the extension field as the VM hunt group number and in the welcome message I can say something like " to repeat this message press 7". I read other suggestions to record the message a number of times which may be noticeable particularly when are gaps in the recording from a handset naturally from us human beings not being that perfect.

zodiacgam,

If you're worried about perfection then use a computer to record, duplication and splice. Then upload via the System Audio upload form.

As for silence between recordings, this is to be expected to allow the caller to make a choice before repeating.

If you want to force the caller to press a digit. Set up a single digit transfer only MB that is set to transfer back to the VM Huntgroup.

P.S.

Zodiacgam, please try and inlude System type and Software version and any other relevant details.

I only knew you were asking about a 3300 because of a post in a different thread. The answer for a SX200 would be quite different. Software versions are extremely important as well.

I had to do this in my offce a while back...here is the knowledgebase article I wrote for our helpdesk on this.

After a cusotmer request I found there was not a feature built in to the Mitel system to make the main menu repeat. The default auto attendant menu will play once and then transfer to the operator if no action is performed. To satisfy this customer request, I had to ftp to the controller and download the current greeting. Once the greeting was downloaded, I used a .wav editor called audacity to repeat the audio 2 times. To keep this uniform and sounding like the other menu's, be sure to add 5 seconds of silence between repeats.

The main auto attendant day greeting is located at /vmail/c/vm/prompt/english/PDAY.vox

There is a free app called acarda that will convert the vox file to wav and vice versa.

Once you are done editing the file, import it back to the same directory.

Since you are manually importing, exporting, and deleting files, it's a good idea to do a DBMS Check after you are finished.

forgot to mention...the above procedure was performed on a 3300 CX running 9.0 software.
