i've been running winXP for a couple of weeks without any problems. then, unexpectedly the machine started to freeze for about 15-20 seconds at random intervals. sometimes a restart will stop or delay the freezes. i pulled up the task manager to monitor the performance of the machine and it showed a huge spike in CPU usage corresponding to the freezes. any ideas? thanks.
