I have a client using Outlook 2003 and has there e-mail hosted by 1and1.com. The problem he is having is that every e-mail he sends out, he gets a spam e-mail back with the screen name of the e-mail he sent. They've checked for virus/Trojans and everything comes up clean ( FYI - We used Norton and Pandasoftware )

Is there something else or something I'm missing ??? Any other suggestions would be helpful before I wipe out the hard drive and reinstall....Thanks

Hi BlkJckFrnk

1. Have you checked the options on the spam msg - look at the email header stuff to see where the message is coming from.

2. Temporarily set up a second account in his Outlook with another ISP (yours?) and try sending a test via that account to see if the same thing happens.

3. Does this happen with messages to all recipients or just specific one(s).

I'm thinking the problem may not lie in his machine but may be with the ISP or his correspondent(S).
