We recently upgraded from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2007. After this upgrade users were not able to see free/busy time. I modified the legacyExchangeDN attribute for the users so that it pointed to the new Exchange server. I then added the old entry to each users as an X500 address so that they could reply back to users who had sent them email prior to the change. All is working well except for one user. When this user sends an email address, it now uses a reply to address of :

IMCEAEX-__O=domain_OU=EXCHANGE+20ADMINISTRATIVE+20GROUP+20+28FYDIBOHF23SPDLT+29_CN=RECIPIENTS_CN=USER@domain.org

instead of user@domain.org

Any idea's on why only this one user is having this issue? Any way to resolve this?

Change what? what is the objetct?

Look at the AD user and look at the relevant tabs - it ought to be fairly obvious which is in error. My guess would be the email address tab will have an X500 primary address instead of an SMTP address.

thats not the problem, it has the SMTP

Is the checkbox that allows the address to be dynamically updated checked/unchecked?

Have you tried creating a new SMTP address and setting it as the primary and then seeing whether the reply address changes? If it changes to the new address, you might then delete the original SMTP address and create it again, or let the RUS (or what stands in for it in E2007) regenerate it.

Lastly, you might use ADSIEdit to do a side-by-side comparison of the relevant fields of a mailbox that doesn't have this issue with this one and see if there is a discrepancy or an inadvertent error that cropped up when the LegacyDN was edited.
