I have a weird problem with proxy setting in IE. Last week we joined one representative office to our main W2K domain and Active Directory. We also set a policy to force them to use one of our corporate proxy server as a proxy for IE browsing. However there are some problems when browsing through that proxy.
Half of the clients can not browse intenet at all if they use the proxy, for some clients it only works sometimes and for some clients it works ok without any problems. DNS and everything works ok, because all clients can ping the sites by IP or name. If they dont use the proxy and go to internet directly it works perfect for all clients. Even if I try it on their W2K server I can not browse by using the proxy, and if I uncheck the proxy everything is fine.
I even installed Netscape and tried it, but it stil didnt work with proxy server set, without it it worked perfectly. So I would say it is not an IE problem.
As I said strange thing is that for half machines on this LAN browsing through proxy works ok, so everything is ok with the proxy. For other half when they try to browse pages through proxy it starts loading the page (the name is displayed in the title line in IE) but that is all.
Thanks for any suggestions!
