A client of mine purchased a sandisk because I had one, and his daughter has been using it for school and some wierd things have been happening. For one thing, she has a few files that won't delete from the disk, giving the error message "Can not read from the source file or disk" The file names are assumeva.ind, EATETROF.ile and a few others. Also, apparently some files will be saved to the flash drive and will then not be there when accessed later. Anyone heard of this or have any ideas?

Either the FAT is corrupted or the device itself is faulty...
Try to format the drive!

These files could also be audio (IPod?) or video (camera) files. Where did she get these files? If they are (other) files, they probably need the recording device to recognize.

In addition to what micker377 is saying, sometimes you have to go to one specific program that will be installed on your pc. In that program those files will have meaning.
