Weird Problem With Font Spacing In Photoshop

Hi All. I am having a weird problem in Photoshop all of a sudden. Lets say I make a text box. When I want to go to a new line I would normally just hit enter and it would take me to a new line. All of a sudden when I want to go to a new line and hit enter, the next line of text writes on top of the previous line. For example:

Lets say I wrote:

Hi
My Name Is

...The "My Name Is" would cover the bottom half of "Hi" - How do I fix this spacing problem? Thanks in advance! :)

It sounds like the spacing between your lines of text (called "leading" )is set to a much smaller number than the size of your text. This can happen if you type in a larger text size within the text control palette but don't alter the "leading". Start off with the text and leading sizes the same, say both at 24pt. Then when you've done a second line of text make adjustments to your liking by altering the number in the "leading" box. Here's a tip to quickly and visually adjust the line spacing:
Insert your text tool cursor anywhere in the text you have just created. Then do "select all" and all of the text will be highlighted. Hold down the alt (mac) or option (pc) key and use your up and down arrows see the spacing change.
I'm working on a Mac with P/Shop cs.
