A user in three person office is complaining of his mail being delayed. Actually, what is probably happening is they are periodically not being notified that they have messages in their mail box. The other two people are not complaining.

Avaya sez to reset and if the problem is still there, replace the module. Easy for them to say, this is pretty expensive module.

Any Ideas would be appreciated.

What version PMVS, how many users, what version CPU, have you checked software configuration (ports/hunt group), how old is the hardware?

Hi chaznw,
Is the PMVS card being used as an attendant as well? If you are using a two port mail, then setting the MWL may be delayed from time to time. The voicemail uses the last port for system houskeeping. If it's busy with calls, it can't set message waiting lamps. It depends on how busy the vm system is.
I have a lawyers office that can take up tp 1/2 hour for the MWL to light. I programmed the vm ports on a phone to prove to them how bust the system is. They believe me now.
I have had intermittent / defective voicemail units fail to set MWL's. They usually "freeze up" or "crash" and not respond at all though.

We have had a tech out and he did check everything out. He rebuilt the mailbox, and did a reset of the VM module (progamming saved).

Since this is causing a lot of heartburn for the manager of that office, I am going to replace the VM module. Thanks for your help.
