I have Outlook 2000 installed on both a laptop and desktop. The laptop is older and is win2k, the desktop is XP.
I've had both connected, side by side, to the same Exchange server account, and have noticed 2 different "issues". For some reason, the win2k machine receives emails about 30 seconds faster than the XP. Not really a pressing concern but it may relate to the real problem.
For some unknown reason, the XP machine will not show new messages until something is selected in Outlook. If you scroll the inbox, any new messages will show up. If you select a different folder (ie Sent Items, Deleted Items etc.) any new messages will also show up. If you click on Send and Receive nothing happens until you do one of the previous 2 things.
Any ideas?
