ok my exchange server stopped responding to any outside internet request. Exchange is running on windows 2003 server r2 and is exchange 2003. the domain controller at that site where exchange is located is windows server 2008 standard. I removed the other windows server 2003 r2 domain controller and moved all the services to the 2008 machine.
when i went to login to the exchange server it gave me an error message and told me that the network address was invalid. I can login using the local admin account but it wont let me login with the enterprise admin account or any account. After i reboot the 2008 server and then reboot the exchange server everything is fine.
I have 4 total sites all connected thru hardware VPN. At the primary site is where the one 2008 domain controller is and the exchange 2003 server and the 2008 domain controller holds ALL the fsmo roles. the other sites each have their own 2003 r2 domain controller. the exchange server is set to pull dns from the 2008 domain controller and from 2 other sites. i didnt set it to pull from the 4th site because that domain controller is on its last leg and is barely surviving and there is a lot of network traffic there so any traffic to that site domain controller is a hit and miss until i get it replaced.
