weird link behavior in IE9 related to onmouseover?

I have a weird phenomena with my website that only occurs in IE9. For any link once you enter into the secure section of our site you do not actually go to the page until you move over an onMouseOver/onMouseOut event. I have checked the site with firebug and it tells me of no issues with the scripting. Has anybody seen this type of behavior or do you have any ideas what I may want to look for in running down this issue? My response is just to tell everybody not to use IE9, but the powers that be don't think that is an acceptable answer... :)
