weird IE bug

After a little modification of the rounded corners example at

http://www.webreference.com/programming/css_borders/index.html

I ran into a problem, I wanted an image floated to the left of the content - which is going to vary in length. The background fitted to the content and not the floated image, leaving a big transparent rectangle through the box. So I made several more adjustments, trying to make it look right in IE and keep it functional for all browsers. I finally found that floating the content instead of the image worked in Fireox but in IE - the text is invisible until seleted.
