Weird edit box in grid

I have a grid displaying fields from a view. Most columns are text boxes but one is an edit box displaying a memo field. There is also a dynamicbackcolor on all columns.

The weird thing is that if the edit box or its column are read only it does not display the text or the dynamicbackcolor. All the other columns display both. Make both the edit box and its column ReadOnly=.F. then then memo field text and the dynamicbackcolor display fine.

What is going on here?

John,
Is your EditBox column marked Sparse = .F.? This can definitely cause a different behaviour.
