Hi All,

Wonder if anybody can help me out with a bizare DNS problem I'm having.

I've got two meeting rooms which both have a 5 port HUB in them, this then connects to my subnet and issues IP addresses in the same range and also gives out the same DNS servers.

Now in the one room we have a PC that can resolve the name of a client's VPN gateway and connect fine, in the second the room with the same PC there is no name resolution and the client fails to connect to the gateway. Other PC's work fine, just this one particular machine

The IP configuration issued to the client doesn't change as the topology is exactly the same, just different physical locations.

Anybody have any suggestions as it's blown my mind.

Thanks

possible faulty NIC, or cable.

try a different card...

try a different PC on same cable...
eliminate all possible hardware issues... get latest drivers...

I'm guessing wiring. Can you ping anyone in the bad room?
