Weird dialing issue 3

My customer has a Partner ACS 7.0 and 1 user says he gets wrong numbers when dialing and they are so far off what he was dialing. I moved him to a different port in the system giving him x 17 instead of x22 so the station is working off a different board and his phone has been swapped with another. This is a first for me! Maybe the system is haunted!!!!
 
What kind of set is being used?

I have heard of problems like this caused by using the speakerphone feature. In that case the volume was too high, and the room had much echo. The phone picked up the echo and caused wrong numbers by double digits, etc.

Is your client's problem similar or something else?

He is using an 18D Series 2. I will have to ask about the speakerphone. There is most likely an echo in the room glass walls on 2 sides and concrete floors.
 
Thephonelady...Yes I had the same problem using the speakerphone only on the series II sets..If your user is having the problem only when on speakerphone, try these 2 things...First switch out the set with a older Euro set..The Mic's in the older sets are not as sensitive...If you do not have one in stock, try a small piece of paper or scotch tape and temporarily place it over the Mic for a few days just to prove your trouble..It will desensitize the Mic...Or have them use the Mute button while dialing...Just for test purposes..I had to switch out 5 sets for a office with the same problem and have not been back for 2 years...It was the only permanent solution I could come up with.
 
It is always best to mute the microphone (by pressing the "MIC/HFAI") when dialing a telephone number. The alternative is to use the handset while dialing and then switch to the speaker phone.

Just an update...the tape over the speaker transmitter did the trick!
