This BCM has 8 POTS lines coming into it. Line 8, which I'll call 123-4567, is extended: it also appears on a jack that serves a POTS interface to a security radio (walkie-talkie) system. Lines 1 through 7 are in Line Pool A.
Line 1 and Line 8 both need to appear & ring on DN 3000 (Dispatch). If you call Line 8 directly, it rings on both DN 3000 and the radio sets, no problem.
At night, the Security people forward DN 3000 to Line 8 (Feature 4, 91234567). The set's display shows Forwarded>91234567. Theoretically all of DN 3000's calls should ring on the radio phone. But when someone calls DN 3000, they hear a dial tone, then ringback, then a busy signal. If a security officer picks up on the first ring, they may be able to hear each other over the busy signal, maybe not.
When I tried it, I heard a second dial tone maybe five seconds after the first, as if the BCM was trying to dial the call again.
What is going on here? I thought maybe the Auto-Attendant was picking up, but it's not.
Thanks, all.
