Hello,

I need to buy some new weight scales for my seafood market and wanted to integrate them into my Micros 3700 POS system that runs throughout my seafood market and seafood restaurant. However, I do not know what brands of scales and what models work best with the Micros 3700 POS system as my old scales did not work with the system. I am looking for whatever suggestions you might have as I know there are some scales available that are made to integrate with the various POS systems.

Does my scale have to connect directly to the Micros 3700 POS to send the product weight over or can it print a label with a barcode that can be scanned by the Micros 3700 POS? I've noticed some stores print a label with a barcode that gets scanned by the POS and some stores send the weight directly to the POS from the scale. If possible, I would like the scale to have a fish platter weigh pan/tray and be able to weigh 30 lbs as my current scales have both these options and they are necessary to my business. I will also need to know what settings I need to change in order to get the scale to work with the Micros 3700 POS.

Any advice on the type and model of scale I should purchase would be appreciated.

Thank you,
lachilles

Where I work we use a Random Weight Scale with an ISL script, this is on a 9700 System. I forget the brand and model of Scales we have. I will have to take a look at them again and get back to you.

The barcode scans the 12 Digit barcode that is printestart with 2 (ALL RWBC’s should be, This is an Industry Standard). Example: Barcode 0200001503028; It will then parse out 00001 as the NLU# and 0302 as the PRICE.

Mettler Toledo Ariva is what Oracle sells their corporate clients. I don't think they offer a fish platter though. Whatever you get needs to have RS232 interface because micros doesn't support usb.

This is the model that we are currently using. It is connected via our internal network. The Managers and supervisors update the information on it via a program on their PC.
We already have products setup in Micros. The Cashier places the item on the scale and enters the Micros MI number, it then weights the product and prints out a sticker with a barcode. The barcode is numbered in a way that an ISL script parses though it to pull out the necessary info (as I stated in my previous post).
