We'd like to replicate report options

We have about 30 companies in Great Plains. When we make a change to Report Options... for example, when we are printing a Financial report and we choose a date range, (and save that report option) we would like for that report option to "replicate" to all the other companies.

We have discussed using SQL Replication, and this would probably work, but we are wondering if there is a more "user-friendly" way to do this... perhaps a 3rd party that has written an add-on for reporting.

One other feature that would be nice would be to be able to print (for example) a trial balance for ALL companies in one pass.

Obviously, we could do this with Crystal... or with FRx... but we really don't want to go creating a lot of new Crystal reports... and we'd like this capability for reports other than just for financial reports... say for a Purchasing Trial Balance.

Know any vendors offering such a tool?

There is a table that stores the report options. You can test using DTS to copy the data from one company to the other companies.

I would not recommend hard coding dates into your reports, instead use "Beg of Month to End of Month" or "Beginnning of Fiscal year to current date" etc., so that the user's date determines what data to print (they can change the date to print previous month etc) and the report options don't need to be changed.

Setup your different account ranges, save the options, then copy the GL70500 table to the other companies. If the user's date determines what to print, you shouldn't need to replicate them.
