Hi all,

i have a performance problem with WebSphere3.5.6. After a time the load on my solaris machine increased very fast. A java process eats a lot of cpu time (> 60% ). After an WebSphere restart for some moments the application works fine until the load increase.

Do anybody knows how to fix this?

Do you have DB2 running on your machine? If you do then it may the DB2 version that you are using. Look on the IBM Support site under the DB2 Support site and search for Java Native Memory leak.

The resolution for this problem is to upgrade to DB2 Fix pack 6. It appears that there was a problem with the JDBC driver for DB2.

Hope this helps.

No DB is running on the WebSphere machine. The Oracle DB is running on another system

Hi,

I am also finding the same problem where WAS 3.5.6 is installed with JDEdwards OneWorld Xe.
For the first time I set the Auto Reload of Servlets to False and reduced Max Conenctions and it worked fine.
Later, client upgraded the JDE and once again my WAS 3.5.6 Java process is utilizing CPU constantly upto 50%

Thanks

In WAS Admin Console, stop your AppServer and change the heap size of you WCS AppServer to 128 for the "Initial java heap size" and 228 for the "Maximum java heap size" under your JVM Settings tab.

Restart your AppServer. This will minimize your memory usage.
