WebSphere Error:Failed Initialization 1

Hi All,
I just finished installing Websphere on an AIX machine (version 5). Instalation went fine but when I went to start the server, it gives the message: Server Launched but failed initialization
Then, when I verify installation, i get many error messages saying:
Server server1 failed to start
Error occured during setup
Failed to start transport on host, port 9090. The most likely cause is the port is already in use

I know for a fact that I am the only one on this server and that there is no way this port is in use. Does anyone have an idea of what could be wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

Websphere conflicts with wsm. I have found the best way is to disable the wsmserver port 9090 in /etc/services and reboot.

I wound up changing the port all together. But I think I might disable wsmserver too so I can change it back. Thanks so much.

Hi aofan,

Make sure the PTF U484272 is installed on your AIX.

I met the same problem, but this PTF solved it.
