Websphere Application Server Express V5 for iSeries

Has any had problems accessing the "Create New Express Server" option in the HTTP Admin section.

I have been following the procedures in the WASE for iSeries Redbook and have been running with the initial setup with no problems.

When the Redbook gets to the section stating to access the iseries admin link (

http://your

iseries:2001), I can login with qsecofr here but when accessing the setup tab i do not get the option to "Create New Express Server".

I have applied the WS Group ptf and latest CUM, although not all the group ptfs could be applied due to
pre-requisites, perhaps this is where I am going wrong.

Is there anyone who has installed WS on an iSeries successfully whos WS Group PTFs were all installed?

Hi, I've installed too many times WAS Express on iSeries with OS/400 V5R1M0.

You need to install some PTFs before install WebSphere.

You need to do the following setps:

1.- Be sure to have installed the following OS products:

- 5722SS1 Option 18
- 5722SS1 Option 34
- 5722DG1 IBM HTTP Server
- 5722JC1 Toolbox for Java
- 5722JV1 Option *Base Developer Kit for Java
- 5722JV1 Option 5 Java Developer Kit 1.3

2.- You need to install the following groups of PTF:

- SF99156 (HTTP, last level recommended. I had level 12)
- SF99501 (DB. I had level 11)
- SF99069 (Java, last level recommended. I had level 15)

3.- Install WebSphere Application Server Express

4.- Install PTF SF99270 (last level recommended)

5.- You need to install aditional PTF for WAS Express SI07518

6.- You need to install aditional PTF for IBM Toolbox for Java, needed to WAS Express SI06156
