I have a computer that when I try to get to the background comes in, and it starts to load, then all of a sudden it stops. I get the page cannot be found page. (after it starts to load in).

The computer had ie 5.5 on it, so I upgraded to IE6, with the hopes that this would fix it. No luck. I even tried installing AOL 6.0 to see if it could load the page. No luck again. Other computers on the lan can access the page, so I know it is not a connection problem.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance
Rick

Have you by any chance got a net nanny or something similar running? I spent months fightng a problem much like yours, only to discover that the net nanny I had installed was stopping access to some of the safest of sites, in exactly the way you describe.

Thanks for reply. Unfortunately this is not it. Just plain old Windows ME. Very little is running on the machine other than that. It is behind a Linksys router, but I can reach the site from other computers on the lan.

Thanks again
Rick
