Chris.

Indifference will be the downfall of mankind, but who cares?

Just to add to what Chris said, there isn't a program in the world that can completely secure your site. There is software that can _help_ but it doesn't come anywhere close. In short, it comes down to you, the webmaster to code properly and to properly secure the server.

what is the best program to use to secure images on your website..."

As Chris says, there's no way to prevent people copying images from your website. Anybody who says there is is fooling themself. Anybody that tries to sell you a program to do it is trying to fool you.

One thing you CAN do is put a visible watermark across your pictures. It won't prevent people from copying them, but it might stop them wanting to. The best program for this would be Photoshop, or your favorite graphics package. Just put "(c) WhoElse" (or whatever) in a text layer across your image and reduce the opacity to 30% or so.

"...and to secure website itself as well"

What do you mean by "securing the website"? If you mean protecting the HTML source code, you can't. See notes above, or go to this link which suggests some approaches...

As for images, if you have access, enabling hotlinking protection will help, but only for those who try to steal your bandwidth, not saving your images. For that, there is really nothing you can do.

Well, there is one sure-fire, solid way to protect your images from being stolen: don't post them online. :)

Can the "no-rightclick" java script in conjunction with hosting folder "cloaking" options prevent this?

The "no right click" javascripts are very easy to defeat.

Ive managed to over come them by highlighting using the LMB then pressing ctrl and C and it copys.
Easiest thing to do is a s suggested stamp across the picture

Plus, a problem with the no-rightclick is that it only fools people who don't understand about internet cache. As soon as the pic shows up on your screen, it's in your cache folder. You don't have to rightclick to copy it. Just go into the cache folder and grab it.
