First off, i have to admit you guys are great for taking the time and giving a fresh perspective that sometimes i miss. That said(and brownie points given)

I have been working on a project but need some reviews on the first page for a new site. Yes, it's only the first page but i would rather get this right before i copy it to all pages.

Suggestions on color and layout?

- Viewing the site with images disabled leaves little to the imagination. The brown-on-yellow is then hard to read, and you have absolutely no text-based information to replace the information in the image. This also hampers SEO - just turn off styles and see what I mean.

- Related to the previous point, your H1 and H2 elements are empty. What's the point?

- Your design doesn't scale that well, with the containers for the nav being a fixed height.

- In the browsers I checked (Fx2, IE6), the middle section if the 'horizon' image is a few pixels out from the background, which makes the horizon look jagged.

Hope this helps,
Dan

Thanks for the info BillyRayPreachersSon,

I see your point on the no images, so i changed a few things and it looks better.

I fixed the H1 and H2 as well as the nav being off on your browser. Strange the nav didn't show that way in FF3 or IE7.
