Webshield Overwhelmed?

Is it possible that WebShield can be overwhelmed with too much activity? We've seen a large increase in incoming traffic on our gateway server that's running WebShield (thanks to SoBig32 f). We have WebShield configured to block certain file types, however, I'm seeing messages with these file types delivered to our users. I've tested this a few times and have seen some messages delivered while other messages (with same file types) blocked as configured. I'm wondering if some messages are getting through becuase of increased activity.

Can WebShield be overwhelmed? Can I modify some configuration to help?
