WebServer Redirection

Hi,

We have an issue with a user. he is trying to connect to an internal webserver. Basically the user should be able to type the URL and then will be redirected to a login box. At the moment his machine hangs when it starts to redirect. IE completely freezes and then task manager is the only way out. I have searched through the settings and my collegue has upgraded his to IE6 sp1 to no avail. Has anyone got any ideas of how to fix this?

IS bypass proxy for local addresses ticked and has a a valid entry under te advanced settings?
Does the connection use ActiveX etc? Add the local webserver to the trusted zones and see if this helps.
