MY
Hi,

My PC stays in a home network with another 3 machines. Its IP is 10.1.1.*. The router address is 10.1.1.1.

I am unable to access my webserver from external (ISP's ip). I tried to forward all the port 80 to my local port 80 <= I read some thread on this, but not sure am I doing it right.

When I use my ISP ip to access the webserver using my local machine, it will direct me to the router configuration page (which we usually see when 10.1.1.1 is typed). I yet to try browse from PC that isn't in my network.

Did anyone have idea on how to solve this?

Thanks.

eewah,

You need to configure your router to forward TCP packets on port 80 (or the port that Apache is listening on) to the internal IP address of your Apache server (10.1.1.*).

And secondly, you need to ensure your ISP isn't blocking inbound port 80 requests.

I should have thought of that, considering that my ISP blocks port 80.

What happens when you try to get to your public IP from a host on another network? Do you get the router config or nothing at all?

Turn off the remote administration... it uses port 80 and that is what your seeing or you can configure apache to run on a different port and you forward that port to your webserver.

The reason he is seeing the router config page when using his local computer is not due to remote adminsitration being on, rather his router does not support local loopback.

What happens exactly when you try to access the public IP on port 80 from an external host?
