I have two webreports that essentially use one webreport to accept search criteria (search template html), and another webreport to format the search results within the webreport.

it works great......about half of the time. I don't know why it works sometimes and not others. If it works correctly i see the search results within the webreport, and if it doesnt work correctly, i see the native search results.

I can't seem to find any consistant behaviour.

Does this ring a bell to anyone out there?? it seems like the client has seen this before, but can't remember how they fixed it.

Looking at the flow I would think that the search results in native livelink is returned as xml and a style sheet is used to present it.so would this be the reason why it is not working

Execute search using ?func=search& <alot of params>&stylesheet=/searchsupport/mychangeresults.xml

So the search will work but when it looks for the style sheet object which apparently is under the support directory and in another folder called searchsupport/,if there is more than one front end doing this and in one of the servers in this mecahnism the stylesheet ain't there you would get native results....

If webreports is not using stylesheet methods I would advise you to look for any differences in the builds of the servers to give you a clue.BTW I am giving you hints as to
how I would go about this I have no idea how webreports implements their stuff

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

touche citrus, toche. Thanks appnaire, thats some good thought. We have a single app server and index server, so maybe their is some inconsistancies there. However, we have another similar report that functions fine. I'm guessing there is something missing or something extra in my html submission form. ill keep digging
