Hello, I will like to start designing a web page for a church.. I have a little bit of experience with HTML, Javascript and Frontpage... What do you guys recommend as far as a good homepage... Do you think using flash will give an extra good touch or do you guys think that it will take too long to load... I am here looking for suggestions... Any ideas are welcome...

Hi

Stupid Flash animations are considered somewhere between boring and irritating. Use Flash if you have something to say that can not be said without animation. ( No, site logo, navigation menu and subscribe to newsletter is not such thing. )

Regarding you skills, better strengthen your HTML and CSS skills ( for example in forum215 ) and forget FrontPage.

I choosing a strategy for the development, then the next question would be about the server. Will you be able to use any server-side scripting/programming language ?

Feherke.

I would agree with the previous mentioned, down with flash! If you only know the basics then you could always search around for a free html template to help you get started.

Also, I prophesy that in six months time you'll want to tear down everything you've done and start again. Do it. It's normal to go through a few (re)generations with a site, especially when you're just starting out.
