Hi,

We have been using sbs2003 without any problems up till now. Since a few days we are unable to acces the webmail. We can only acces it from within our network, external acces gives you a page cannot be displayed error.

Does anyone know were to look..i checked all but cant find anything wrong.

Thanks
Theo

Ok. What has changed? Have you recently installed updates? Have you recently changed ISP's or IP addresses or firewalls? For it to just stop working something has changed.

Are you having any issues with inbound mail? If you are, then it's probably a DNS or firewall issue.

If you can access OWA from your LAN, then it's probably not a problem on your SBS server. If it was an IIS permissions issue, you'd get that sort of error from the outside, not just a 404-page not found.

Can you get to RWW? ?

If so, that means that 443 traffic is properly being passed to your SBS box. If it doesn't work, then your general problem is SSL/443 on your firewall not being directed to your server. If you are also having issues with inbound mail, it may be an issue with your DNS. Check your A-records and make sure they point to your public IP.

The only thing that changed is that we moved to another location, but the mailserver stayed in the same location it was. There havent been any updates prior to not being able to connect to the webmail.

There arent any problems with inbound email or with outbound. The only thing that isnt working anymore is the webmail.

We arent using RWW, so cant check that.

So everything moved from Site A to Site B except the SBS box? Is this move to a new physical location or within your current office? Does OWA just not work from the new location or does it not work from anywhere?

we connect to our email as follows public ip adrss is 82.94.65.142

c-stream.nl. MX 10 mx2
c-stream.nl. MX 20 fallback.fastware.nl.
c-stream.nl. MX 80 fallback002.fastware.nl.
c-stream.nl. A 193.58.204.200
localhost A 127.0.0.1
mx A 82.94.65.142
mx2 A 193.23.113.212
vpn A 88.159.8.99
webmail A 82.94.65.142
www A 194.187.46.151
A 82.94.65.142
c-stream.nl. TXT v=spf1 ip4:82.94.65.142 -all
NS ns1.fastware.nl.
NS ns2.fastware-webdesign.nl.
NS ns3.fastware.nl.

We have always been able to connect to the webmail. But now we cant connect to it from anywhere.

Thanks for the help

Well, as Shackdaddy said, your issue is not with the SBS box. It is with either your firewall or hosting company.

I cannot get to your webmail via HTTP or HTTPS whether I use the FQDN or the IP. I also cannot get to your website. I ran a dnsreport on your domain and one of your name servers has some errors. You might want to explore that.

Did you move your firewall too? Verify that port 80 is open as well as 443.

The firewall hasnt moved. I did mail the hosting company about the error on the server. Both ports are open on the firewall and redirected to the correct server.

Our website isnt online at the moment so thats normal.

Thanks again for the help

Have you run the ICW on your SBS box? Are you using Premium or Standard? What I think is happening is the web request cannot be properly returned back out through the firewall to the Internet. If ports are open and redirecting properly then you should not have any issues. But I cannot ping your IP either? Do you have ICMP disabled?

Sorry for the late reaction..been sick for the past 2 weeks.

We are using the standard version. That you cannot ping our IP adres is correct..thats disabled. I have run ICW several times but always the same result..email works fine, we can acces webmail from within the network but not from the outside.

Everything worked fine without any problems untill 2,5 weeks ago. Notting has changed it just stopped working from one minute to the other.
