I have quite a few students with this issue using IE. Ran MS antispy, Adware, spybot, smitrem and hijackthis. Reset IE settings, disabled all IE add ins. Virus scan comes clean. Any thoughts on what could be the culprit or solutions to try?
This could be something as simple as a misunderstanding (language or encoding) between the server & client. Sometimes characters that are not understood are displayed as the ? symbol. I would expect the root problem to be on the server. What webmail system is being used?
Interestingly, just a few moments after posting this, I was sent a link to a web page that does exactly what I mentioned above, but only in Firefox - the ' symbol as in can't is is displayed as a ? symbol like can?t.
